Nokia handsets sold in Germany are to be embedded with multiplayer games
The Finnish company has chosen Germany for the European debut of its SNAP Mobile connected Java games platform, which is already powering services in Asia Pacific and North America.
Starting this autumn, Nokia will pre-install SNAP-powered games in handsets such as the N73, N95 and 6300.
The initial line-up consists of SNAP's flagship Pocket Party games, JellyPop and Sudoku. Features include single and multiplayer gameplay modes, high score posting and rankings, buddy lists, avatars, a token system and integrated chat.
Consumers will be able to demo the games for free before deciding to buy the full version.
Antoine Doumenc, head of SNAP Mobile, said: "After continued success in Asia Pacific, we are clearly setting our sights on the European market. Germany is our first target country and we plan to expand our service availability in multiple European distribution channels within the year."
