There are 12.3 million mobile social networkers in the US and Europe, says M:Metrics
The research shows that MySpace has largest mobile network in the US and UK, while MSN/Windows Live Spaces is tops in France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
The US has the largest mobile social networking audience, with 7.5 million users, equivalent to or 3.5 per cent of mobile subscribers.
Italy follows, with 1.3 million users (2.8 per cent), then the UK, with 1.1 million (2.5 per cent), Spain with 751,000 (2.3 per cent), Germany (1.9 per cent) and France (1.7 per cent).
M:Metrics says MySpace and Facebook are the top two social networking sites accessed via mobile in both the US. and UK. MySpace attracts 3.7 million US and 440,000 UK mobile users.
In the US, Facebook’s mobile audience is about 2 million, and about 307,000 in the UK. Rounding out the top three is YouTube in the US, with 901,000 mobile visitors and Bebo in the UK, with 288,000.
