Admob goes after iPhone

AdMob has set up a dedicated unit to help brands reach iPhone users.
The new division will also help AdMob's network of over 2,000 publishers monetise their iPhone traffic, with fifteen publishers that develop iPhone-specific content already signed up.
The launch was conceived in response to advertiser requests after some experienced increased traffic from iPhone users. AdMob’ servers have been tweaked to detect iPhone users and serve iPhone-specific ads to them. The new unit leverages the core technologies available for the iPhone, including mapping technology for location-based advertisers.
"What we built takes advantage of the targeting capabilities of our platform and the unique capabilities of the iPhone to deliver rich, mobile-specific advertisements. This new user functionality - from an advertisement - is exactly what mobility is all about," states AdMob CEO Omar Hamoui.
