Leipzig Games Convention - a viable mobile alternative to E3?
With last month's E3 trade show widely pilloried for its utter lack of an official mobile element, the upcoming Liepzig games Convention in Germany appears to be picking up some of the slack.
Among the confirmed exhibitors are THQ Wireless, Vivendi Games Mobile and the IMGA Awards, while Qualcomm, Nokia, I-play and Exozet Games are waxing lyrical in the conference streams.
Organisers of the Games Convention are expecting this year's show to be the biggest event yet, with 200,000 visitors set to attend - over three times more than the 60,000 attendees E3 attracted in July.
No doubt the mobile games industry, which always struggles to get its voice heard in the heady days of E3 in its pomp, will be hoping the European event can build on the nod it has given to the sector this year.
