Discovery Networks has launched two channels with mobile-only content via Vodafone and Orange UK.

Discovery Turbo and Animal Planet are now available with exclusive made-for-mobile content as well as optimised content from the linear channel. Both are available on subscription as part of the Sky Mobile package.

The launches are part of a re-brand of Discovery’s factual and lifestyle mobile TV channels. It also progresses the company’s strategy to integrate on-air programming with digital services.

Discovery Turbo will be packaged in 20 minute batches, available on-demand and updated every weekday, showcasing the best programming from hit shows including The Garage and American Chopper.

The launch of a dedicated Turbo branded channel on mobile TV mirrors Discovery’s launch of the Discovery Turbo linear channel in May of this year

Animal Planet mobile content will be offered on-demand as a one hour weekly loop and will showcase snack-sized bites of the channel’s most popular programming including the award-winning Meerkat Manor and Crocodile Hunter Diaries.

Both channels will also show exclusive-to-mobile content including behind-the-scenes sneak peaks, show highlights, exclusive talent interviews and information guides.
