Wapple is supplying the tools to let people build ‘white labelled’ mobile communities.
It has built a new WAP portal for the mobile social network specialist Sonopia to make it simple for users to create and publish professional mobile internet sites. These sites, called Sonopias, can incorporate social networking functions such as adding friends, uploading photos, content purchasing, blogging and messaging.
In effect, any community, charity, brand, entertainment organisation or group of friends can become a mobile virtual network operator and share content tailored to their personal interests. Sonopias also have the ability to sell content, such as ringtones, wallpapers, games and video.
"Wapple’s tools give us the ability to put together mobile services and content that are completely tailored to our partners and their members' lifestyles and preferences,” said Juha Christensen, CEO of Sonopia Corporation. “Sonopia is making it possible for anyone to become a mobile carrier in a matter of minutes and changing the way people think about their cell phones.”
Sonopia has already delivered sites in the US for organisatons such as The National Wildlife Federation, IBM and more.
