Oxy Systems has greenlighted phling!, a music and social networking service for mobile.
phling! connects users with their entire music collection by allowing them to stream it from PC to handset. But it also encourages a community dynamic by letting users share tunes, read and submit song reviews, find out what friends are listening to, browse user profiles, discover what’s hot, share playlists and post messages on bulletin boards.
Meanwhile bands and indie labels can use phling! as a promotional channel by connecting with a mobile community of music lovers and showcasing their music for free.
Oxy Systems is currently talking to European operators about embedding phling! Graeme W. Smith, VP of product marketing at Oxy Systems, said: “The phling! service radically changes the way mobile phone users listen to music on their handset and truly expands the entire music discovery experience – for labels, musicians and our subscribers.”
