Years after the WAP is crap headlines, the platform is now powering the rapid growth of the mobile internet. This achievement was celebrated with the award of the Meffys 'special recognition' prize.

The Meffy awards ceremony, held during the MEM show this week at the Fairmont Hotel in Monte Carlo, attracted guests from all over the world. They were judged by independent panels of media and analysts.

Rimma Perelmuter, MEF’s executive director, said: “The Meffys winners are a roll call of the companies that are blazing a trail in the mobile entertainment industry.”
