Indonesia is an important mobile market. With 60 million subscribers, it’s Asia’s third largest behind China and Korea. Despite the preponderance of ringtones and ringbacks, 3 clearly hopes the new service will drive the demand for full music tracks.
Suresh Reddy, CMO of 3 Indonesia, said: “The launch of our new music service effectively removes the technology pain for consumers by offering them a single point of purchase and delivery for their music.

The service will feature a strong local music repertoire from Indonesian labels, including Universal Music Indonesia, Musica Studio, Sony BMG and more. Local labels hold a combined 65 percent share of the Indonesian market.

Full songs will retail at a price of IDR9,000 ($1.02) to mobile and IDR10,000 ($1.13) to handset and PC.
