The popular online ‘personalised radio station’ Pandora has migrated to mobile, with Sprint offering subscribers a version of the service.
Pandora lets users to enter a song or artist they like, then delivers a continuous stream of songs that fit the same style. The songs are selected using the company’s proprietary ‘Music Genome Project’ for analysing the musical qualities of a song.
Pandora is now available to Sprint Power Vision users. As well as playing music, it displays information about the current song and lets listeners scroll backward to see this information for recently played songs.
They can also pause, skip and recommend songs. Up to 100 stations can be saved in a user's account, to be accessed online or via mobile.
Predictably, there’s a bookmark function so that songs can be purchased from the Sprint Music Store. Pandora on Sprint is available for free for 30 days and then costs $2.99 per month with a Power Vision data plan.
