Mobstar Media has signed a worldwide licensing agreement with AT New Media.
The Brighton-based creative mobile content studio already pumps its character-based content into 3 UK, O2, Vodafone and Orange as well as producing for the likes of Universal, Endemol and EMAP.
The deal with AT, which has previously licensed official merchandise based on the Crazy Frog ringtone character, will see Mobstar's original IP appear on non-mobile platforms and products for the first time.
Among the characters Mobstar has created are Bumble Bear, Love Devils, Hard Arse Henry and W*nkboy.
AT New Media. CEO Paul Comben said: "Mobstar Media impressed me profoundly. Here is a huge range of characters designed to appeal to the demanding target audiences among tweens, teens and young adults, which retailers and licensees are very eager to reach.
By working with the first production studio to specialize in mobile, AT New Media can bring these exciting and unique properties to licensees, retailers and consumers all around the world.”
Jamie Goldblatt, founder and chairman of Mobstar Media, said: "With many of our characters now downloaded hundred of thousands of times, I’m not surprised their merchandising potential has been recognised. We have great fun creating the characters and I think that comes across."
