Gameloft posts bouyant Q1

Gameloft has revised its full-year revenue forecast upwards to 95-100 million euros following strong 1Q07 performance.
The France-based publisher posted sales of 22.7 euros in the three months to March 31st, up by 54 per cent from the previous year.
Gameloft attributed the growth to continued sales from its back catalogue the (it released 45 games last year, compared to 20 in 2005) and 1Q releases Desperate Housewives, Lost, Real Football 2007 and Tennis Open 2007 feat. Lleyton Hewitt.
Europe accounted for 44 per cent of sales, North America 39 per cent and the rest of the world 17 per cent.
The company has now revised its FY07 revenue forecast to 95-100 million euros (compared to its previous 90-100 million euros estimate), equivalent to year-on-year growth of 39-40 per cent.
It has also confirmed an operating margin target (excluding employee stock-based compensation) in excess of 10 per cent for 2007.
Finally, Gameloft says that the publishing market for mobile games is growing, citing Ovum research that estimates that the worldwide installed base of Java phones will hit 1.2 billion units in 2007.
