Starhub gets Pfingo walking

Singapore’s StarHub is trialling a radical new mobile content service called Pfingo that gives users internet browsing, remote access to PC files, VoIP and IM.
The big difference with Pfingo is that it is a cross-operator service. Any subscriber on Singapore’s three networks can register for it at the Pfingo portal and then pick a number pre-fixed 3 (rather than the current 9 or 8). This forms the basis of their subscription.
The service sounds a little like 3’s X-Series idea, being flat rate based and offering a bundle of data as well as call options.
As with other VoIP services, Pfingo lets users call other users for free via WiFi, and any other domestic number for a fixed monthly rate.
The three-month trial has just begun for up to 3,000 users on a first come first served basis.
