Mobile social networking company Mobango has increased the storage available to its members to 1Gb.
The tenfold increase is part of the 2.0 development of the web-based service, which lets users store favourite videos, images, ringtones, games and software for sharing with others via mobile - all for free. Other improvements include the introduction of social networking tools such as internal messaging groups that enable users to find friends and create private groups. These tools enable users to personalise both their computer and their mobile, and to thereby build networks through common interests. The site currently has over a thousand groups.

Fabio Pezzotti, CEO and founder of Mobango, said: “We’re seeing an increase in the sophistication and size of the files being uploaded to the Mobango site, with mobile videos proving particularly popular. By increasing the amount of memory available to our members, we are responding to this trend.”
The development of www.mobango.com is being funded by €2 million invested in the site by VC Doughty Hanson Technology Ventures.
