Sega of America has selected Universomo for mobile development duties on a selection of its games.
The comes a day after Sega Europe extended its development and publishing partnership with Glu Mobile.
Finland-based Universomo is already developing two mobile games for Sega, which are due to be released in the spring.
In addition to design and development, Universomo is also taking responsibility for porting the games across various handsets.
Universomo USA managing director Atte Kotiranta said the deal is a major coup for the developer, which only opened its LA-based US office in the autumn.
Last year the company produced 17 games for a variety of publishers, including Lego Star Wars 2, Rollercoaster Rush, Destroy All Humans! 2 and Gorillaz Entertainment System.
Glenn Wissner, senior producer for Sega of America, said: "Universomo really understands Sega product and has been excellent in keeping to original designs while also adding their own spin and taking our well known brands to a new level of quality."
