Telus adult decision to impact US market?

The decision by Canada's Telus to close its adult content service following religious protest has thrown doubt on impending launches by US operator
Telus launched its age-verified adult content offering in January and is thought to have signed up several thousand customers before pressure from Vancouver's Catholic archdiocese forced it to pull the plug.
Fallout from the decision is likely to be felt south of the border, where most of the big operators - with the exception of T-Mobile USA - are weighing up when to go live with adult content.
US carriers are currently working on an industry-wide age-verification system and sources have told ME that at least one major adult launch was expected this year.
Whether that will now happen given the Christian Right's powerful influence in parts of the country is up for debate.
As one adult content provider told ME: "All the US operators want to be first to be second when it comes to launching adult content."
