Huawei and The Orchard are to offer operators a white-label music service based on over one million indie music tracks.

The deal represents another stage in The Orchard’s mobile ambitions: It signed a similar agreement with Ericsson a month ago. The Orchard already works with hundreds of operators and mobile aggregators including Sprint, Verizon, Vodafone, T-Mobile, Zingy, 9 Squared, Securycast, Arvato Mobile and Hudson Soft.

Under the latest agreement, The Orchard will provide its music catalogue via Huawei's AIMI (Active Music offering) digital music solution, which already serves over 160 million subscribers worldwide including those of China Mobile and Thailand's AIS.
