Orange UK has launched a Musiwave-powered mobile and web-enabled full-track music store.
The France-based operator previously has a full track music relationship with Groove Mobile but appears to have switched across to its compatriot Earlier this year Orange France launched its streaming radio service, Music Cast, based on Musiwave’s Smart Radio technology.
The mobile store contains almost 300,000 tracks, from both majors and indies, while the web-enabled application includes 500,000 tracks. The web service will come along with a Musiwave-powered PC client allowing users to download complete albums onto their computers and easily manage their playlists.
Users can also “side load” music from their PC onto their mobiles.
The mobile service proposition is reinforced with a java-based music discovery engine allowing customers to browse off line, listen to previews and purchase tracks directly from the application.
Musiwave works with over 30 mobile operators in 25 countries including Vodafone, T-Mobile, Telefonica, TELUS, Orange, SFR and Amena.
