Search giants Infospace and FAST have formed a ‘dream ticket’ to power white label mobile search.
The two companies, with more than 20 years combined experience in the search industry, will offer carriers a solution based on FAST's search software, relevancy algorithms, crawling and indexing technologies with InfoSpace's mobile infrastructure, metasearch, carrier integration and customer-facing ASP solutions.
It’s an interesting partnership. Infospace has deep mobile roots, both from its content publishing and search activities. Meanwhile FAST is a highly respected ‘behind the scenes’ search expert that powers many search boxes for media brands.
In a related deal, Infospace also revealed it will work with InfoGin, a Web-to-mobile content adaptation specialist, to offer mobile browsing of the Web through InfoSpace’s Mobile Services Platform. The aim is to allow mobile users on to browse their favorite Web sites, without compromising content richness or functionality.
