mBlox posts record D2C transactions

Off-portal is getting big - mBlox processed 1.4 billion SMS-based content transactions worth $500 million last year, up 40 per cent on 2005.

In the US, the number of premium SMS transactions processed by mBlox doubled as operators in the market began chipping at the walls in their content gardens.

mBlox executive chairman Andrew Bud said: “These numbers demonstrate the huge vitality of the direct-to-consumer market worldwide. We also look forward to the proliferation of 3G, together with carrier innovations like WAP billing and wholesale data which will open up great new market opportunities.”
