Twistbox snaps up Infospace studio

Infospace has sold its Atlas Mobile games studio to Twistbox Entertainment.
The deal was originally scheduled to be announced on February 6th, but was leaked early on the internet.
Atlas will be fully integrated into Twistbox Games, which is headquartered in Germany with studios in Poland and the US.
Atlas made its name with a range of 'Play for Prizes' games that included multiplayer tournaments and loyalty campaigns.
It's widely thought that IOMO, the UK games studio bought by Infospace in December 2004, is also up for grabs as the company streamlines operations following the loss of a key carrier partner.
Twistbox CEO Ian Aaron said: “This acquisition is a perfect fit for our value added mobile game strategy, and complimentary to our existing titles and on-deck distribution in over 40 countries. By integrating Play for Prizes into our RapidPort development and porting platform, we will be able to accelerate the delivery of new games to market.”
