Orange selects ITN for mobile and broadband

ITN has inked a landmark deal to provide news content across Orange's recently unified mobile and broadband content portals in the UK.
The new services are provided by news giant ITN’s multimedia division, ITN On, and will feature the latest UK, world, business, sports and entertainment news.
Content will be delivered as text, stills and video bulletins, updated throughout the day to the Orange web site and the Orange World mobile portal.
These kind of cross-platform content deals are expected to become more commonplace as fixed-mobile telcoms convergence (FMC) gathers pace.
Eric Abensur, VP of broadband for Orange, said: “Our customers want up to the minute news on the issues that matter to them wherever they are.
We’re now giving them exactly that, whether they are at home or on the move they can keep up to date through Orange.”
Nicholas Wheeler, MD of ITN On, said: ”We are excited about delivering a content and video hosting solution to Orange, which required a flexible and innovative approach from its supplier."
Orange UK serves two million home internet customers and over 15 million mobile customers.
