Stuart O'Brien Sep 20 2006, 12:00pm
Digital Chocolate, 3UK and MTV were among the winners of the first ever ME Awards last night - and Bango's Ray Anderson received a special award for his contribution to the mobile entertainment industry.
The eagerly-awaited event in London attracted over 350 mobile content execs from media, technology and entertainment companies around the world. A wide range of categories covered all aspects of the mobile entertainment space, including content publishing, technical services and operator activities.
The ME Awards were organised by Mobile Entertainment magazine and sponsored and supported by SEGA along with Nokia, Infospace, Player X, Dot Mobi and the MMA. The category winners were chosen by a voting panel of over 300 industry execs.
Tim Green, executive editor of Mobile Entertainment magazine, said: "It was an amazing evening. We learned that the industry wants, needs and deserves a gala event like this. We also learned that next year we need to book a bigger room."
