Mobile and internet security provider AVG surveyed more than 5,000 smartphone users from the UK, US, France, Germany, and Brazil to find that 87 per cent of them avoid public wi-fi when banking online.
Meanwhile, 66 per cent say they're aware of risks presented by public wi-fi for general usage, but they use it anyway. Despite fears of online attacks, 38 per cent of people are unaware they have access antivirus apps, while 60 per cent are unaware they can scan for viruses and malware with security apps.
