Following earlier news that Apple's Paris store was robbed at gunpoint, Christmas has sprinkled a spot of seasonal desperation in T-Mobile's direction, as an Ohio store manager has been arrested for stealing $5,000 from his own shop.
48-year-old Todd Daniel was caught out after filing a false police report that claimed he was held at gunpoint, which backfired when officers smelled a rat and investigated further, according to The Morning Journal.
In actuality, officers Juan Rodriguez and Miguel Salgado discovered footage from a nearby McDonald's that showed Daniel loading his own vehicle up with the loot. Upon a search of Daniel's car and home, the officers found $4,500 in cash and $500 worth of marijuana.
Lt. Roger Watkins, said: "They [the investigating officers] went a bit above even though they were busy that day with all the accidents happening. They took the time to do a little bit of work on that and it paid off."
A UK T-Mobile store had a bit of bother back in July, when a customer went berserk and ripped all the fixtures and fittings from the wall.
