More than 500m added in the past eight months.

Tapjoy is mobile monetisation platform with a three-way business model that offers advertising to brands, distribution to developers, and apps to consumers.

With such a varied customer base, it's perhaps unsurprising that the firm has announced that its network has now reached more than one billion mobile devices, with more than 500m newbies arriving over the past eight months alone.

The figure translates into around 100m unique users a month, while a whopping 75 per cent of usage comes from outside of the US in markets like China, where Tapjoy was used on 44m devices in the month of July.

Steve Wadsworth, president and CEO of Tapjoy, said: "Achieving the one billion device threshold serves as an additional marker of our overall global scale.

"This achievement is just the beginning for Tapjoy. As our advertiser and developer partnerships continue to grow, this number will continue to skyrocket and further cement Tapjoy as the global leader in mobile app discovery and monetisation."
