Researcher IDC reckons the e-reader market in Europe, the Middle East and Asia will boom in the next five years, as the price of e-readers such as Amazon's Kindle fall to just £89.
Mario Lombardo, analyst, IDC, said: "The EMEA market for e-readers is developing fast. The rapid fall in prices is making e-readers increasingly accessible to consumers, transforming the way they access content."
The report warns vendors not to be complacent as competition could force them out of the market.
Additionally, e-books received the maximum rate of VAT in most of Western Europe, while printed versions were taxed for less, which will generate the market extra revenue.
