34-year-old actor found himself being carted off to hospital after trying to live off of berries and seeds.
Thespians tend to take their craft very seriously. Christian Bale is a fine example of this, losing more than four stone after living off of coffee and an apple a day for his role in The Machinist.
According to US Weekly, it turns out Ashton Kutcher decided to try method acting for his turn in jOBS, the Steve Jobs biopic, claiming to have watched 'hundreds of hours' of the former Apple CEO's speeches.
Kutcher even adopted the eccentric tech guru's 'fruitarian diet' – strictly fruits, nuts, and seeds – which went horribly wrong when he was rushed to hospital two days before the film started shooting as a result.
Kutcher, said: "I was like doubled over in pain, and my pancreas levels were completely out of whack, which was completely terrifying, considering everything," with 'everything' referencing Jobs dying of pancreatic cancer at 56 in October 2011.
He continued to say: "It's portraying a guy who just passed away that is really fresh in people's minds, that people are really passionate about, and care about, and have an opinion about -- that's really scary. Especially portraying a guy that I really admire . . . it's terrifying, it's terrifying!"
Aside from living off of fruit, Jobs was also known to have had other eccentricities such as walking around barefoot and having a distaste for bathing.
