Answers reveal Apple engineers were expecting clever-clever questions from users.

Since the launch of iPhone 4S on Friday, Apple fanboys have been hammering the voice assistant Siri with bizarre and arch questions.

These interrogations have revealed that the service has ready made answers for hundreds of such posers.

Thus, when asked to “open the pod bay doors.” Siri understands the reference to Hal 9000, the renegade computer from 2001, and quotes back, “I’m sorry, I’m afraid I can’t do that."

It also recommends treatment centres when asked where to find drugs.

There's more on this stuff at This Is My Next, and also a good comparison of Siri and Google Voice at Search Engine Land.
