Porn not really suited to family viewing on a big screen TV...
A report on Xbiz.com says that economics of production and the social habits around watching 3D are causing the adult film business to re-think its approach.
It quotes a story on Philly.com that says Vivid Entertainment changed its mind about releasing Star Wars XXX: A Porn Parody in 3D because "ultimately it didn't make sense financially."
Elsewhere Pink Visual president Allison Vivas concluded that the family living room — where a 3D enabled TV would likely reside — would not be favourable for porn viewing.
Of course, this issue would be mitigated by the emergence of 3D on mobile (currently restricted to the LG Optimus in the west).
She said: "One of the lessons we can take from rapid growth of the mobile market is that consumers really value easy access.

"When we reach a point that there is widespread consumer adoption of mobile and tablet devices that handle 3D seamlessly, and without the need for glasses or other peripheral devices, I think that's when 3D porn will take off."
However, there are other more 'artistic' factors at work that could affect the growth of the medium. Vivas said that "the things that can come at you" (in 3-D porn) "are the things that a male viewer does not want coming at them."
That said, some studios are ploughing on. Hustler President Michael Klein has pledged his company will be making 3D versions of all of its new movies.
