Mobile-only community launches division dedicated to browser-based games.
itsmy games will be the fourth division of itsmy after advertising, social TV and the core social networking service itsmy.com, which has 2.5 million users.
The unit was launched after a first trial of three games, including Graffiti, CrazyBee and WaterBalloon Battle, proved successful with more than five million play sessions within the last three months. There are 50 games in development.
itsmy sees games act as “friends connector” and a revenue generator, even though the basic version of a game is free.
Jukka Saarelainen, CTO of itsmy and its parent GoFresh, said: "Developing device-independent mobile social games on an existing community platform gives us an enormous advantage and allows us to be innovative and fast.”
