Toon Goggles, U-NEXT and others already signed up to deploy the content sharing tech.
PacketVideo's Twonky Beam technology is a digital sharing app that enables connected device – smartphone, tablet, TV, PC – users to wirelessly 'beam' their media content to another such device.
The solution is now available to third party websites and apps as a button that enables them integrate the beaming abilities – similar to Spotify's 'Play Button' widget.
A number of partners have already been signed up, including the Anywhere Artist mobile app, which will integrate the tech directly into its SDK.
Other partners include video-focused brands:
* Toon Goggles: Children's entertainment channel.
* Bedrocket Media Ventures: Online channels provider.
* U-NEXT: Japanese entertainment service that offers movies, TV dramas, and other subscription VOD content.
Osama Al-Shaykh, CTO of PacketVideo, said: "We made sure media sites maintain full control over their user experience, while easily creating the ability to integrate our beaming technology.
"The Twonky Beam button is a web button that allows media sites to expand their reach to home devices and provide a more interesting interactive experience to their users. With Beam button you are able to play media on the big screen and interact with your site visitor via the tablet or smartphone."
