Talk about curved devices has bubbled away for a while, with Samsung's the most anticipated, and the South Korean OEM has now officially unleashed the curvaceous Galaxy Round.
Billed as 'the world's first curved display smartphone,' it comes with 5.7-inch, Super AMOLED, Full HD screen, 7.9mm thickness and a weight of 154g.
What's the point of a curved display, you wonder? Well, Samsung says it comes with a Roll Effect that enables users to check date, time, missed call and battery easily when the home screen is off. This is achieved by quite literally rolling the device down on its side.
Gravity Effect is said to create visual interactions by tilting the handset and the Bounce UX is designed to act as a music control by letting users flick songs by pressing the screen, while the Side Mirror function allows photo/video viewing through tilts.
The device will land in Korea tomorrow (October 10th) and you can check out a video of the Roll Effect below.
