Wireless Olympic Works lets Android users 'personalise their experience'.

The BBC and NBCUniversal have both announced their respective plans for supporting the 2014 Winter Olympic Games across mobiles next month and Samsung has now joined in too.

The South Korean firm has introduced dedicated app Wireless Olympic Works (WOW) to Android devices, allows sports fans to view event content in real-time.

WOW will include event schedules, reports, results, medal rankings, records and more. It's the sister service for the public, which complements WOW for the Olympic Family, a platform designed to let officials and staff communicate at speed.

WS Lee, SVP of New Business Development, Mobile Communications Division at Samsung, said: "Samsung is offering fans around the world the most direct access to Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games and allowing them to design and personalise their experience in ways that are most relevant to their interests and passions.

"Our dedicated teams are hard at work year-round to ensure that the WOW technology is ready for use throughout the Games, both for consumers looking for the ultimate Olympic Winter Games experience, and for the Olympic Family utilising our technology to support Games-time operations."

Sochi 2014 WOW is available from the Samsung App Store and Google Play.
