Mobile-only events service expands beyond London and into the Big Apple.
YPlan secured a slot on the ME Top 50 Mobile Innovators 2013 list for its mobile-only events platform, which offers Londoners access to last minute events in the UK capital from more than 550 partners.
Just last month, the company launched the iPhone service for iPad, and now debuts in New York City following a $12 million funding round.
With more than 300,000 UK downloads and 4,000 events since November 2012, YPlan is hoping New Yorkers will appreciate the service as much as Brits and plans to expand across the US, Europe and Asia.
App users can discover events and purchase in just two taps, with options such as Beyonce concerts of 'chess boxing' on offer.
Rytis Vitkauskas, co-founder, YPlan, said: "New York is one of the most vibrant cities in the world, with events ranging from exquisite rooftop parties to silent discos and sold out A-list star concerts. It is a city at the intersection of the tech and entertainment industries, with an audience that is on the forefront of cultural exploration. We couldn’t think of a better city to roll out YPlan in our expansion into the US."
YPlan's NYC launch took place at the Finale Club, where Pharrell Williams performed to VIP guests including David Schwimmer, Stephen Dorff and Kelly Rutherford.
