Africa, Europe and the Middle-East all without access to emails and BBM just hours after repair.

This morning RIM announced it had resolved the international network outage that plagued millions of BlackBerry users yesterday, just to see the same thing repeat almost instantly.

Just a few hours after RIM's announcement, the system had crashed again across Africa, Europe and the Middle-East.

Yesterday's outage was due to a failure at the company's UK based data site where EMEA traffic is controlled.

The majority of affected users were on consumer tariffs, while most business user services continued to work.

RIM investors are likely to be very concerned. The firm is struggling to compete with other smartphones and tablets on the market and it certainly doesn't need technical problems to add to its troubles.

Malik Saadi, Informa Telecoms & Media analyst, said: "The current situation with the BlackBerry outages couldn't come at a worse time for RIM, following some harsh criticism in recent months."
