Operator and OEM are working on a solution as we speak.
It's very nearly the weekend, and BlackBerry users will likely be employing BBM to arrange fun and festivities for the weekend ahead via BB services, though without any success.
BlackBerry-brandishing Vodafone subscribers are experiencing service interruption, which has prompted the operator to issue a statement, saying: "We are aware that some BlackBerry customers are experiencing issues.
"Vodafone is working closely with Research in Motion (RIM) to restore full service as soon as possible. As soon as we have further information we will provide additional updates."
The BlackBerry UK Twitter page got in on the act too, adding: "Vodafone service issues are impacting some BlackBerry customers in Europe, Middle East & Africa. We are supporting their efforts to resolve."
The scenario is reminiscent of the great global BlackBerry signal outage of October 2011, which saw millions of RIM's customers left without services for four days.
Since posting the story, RIM contacted ME to offer a slightly more informative statement, saying: "All BlackBerry services are operating normally but we are aware that a wider Vodafone service issue is impacting some of our BlackBerry customers in Europe, Middle East and Africa. We are supporting Vodafone’s efforts to resolve the issue as soon as possible."
