New software to support low-end devices.
Google has revealed that it will be releasing Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie by the end of October this year, according to Vr-zone.com.
Anonymous sources have reported that Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie will serve as a fully optimised OS for all devices, including even those with a little as 512MB of RAM.
October will mark the fifth anniversary of Android, and with the Motorola X smartphone expected to launch around the same time, it seems the ideal time to unveil the fifth iteration of the Android OS.
However, there is likely to be an additional Jelly Bean update prior to the release of Android 5.0, with Google set to introduce Jelly Bean 4.3 late August before the arrival of Key Lime Pie.
The Jelly Bean 4.3 update will feature support for low-energy Bluetooth connectivity.
