Digital customer engagement firm to further move into mobile web with the buyout.
SDL supports brands with management technology that provides customers with targeted content based on their devices, language and culture, ultimately 'predicting' what the consumer wants. The firm claims 42 of the top 50 global brands 'rely' on its services.
The acquisition of mobile web solutions provider bemoko has been made as the company continues to support businesses communicating with their audience across all channels. Recently acquired clients include Pizza Hut, The Share Centre and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Mark Lancaster, CEO of SDL, said: "Delivery of content is rapidly becoming more and more complex and yet most of the current methodologies are just not capable of keeping pace. Most technology vendors are still grappling with mobile, using bolt-ons to deal with screen-size. Omni-Channel is the next generation of content delivery, and the notion of ‘One Web’ is a radical transformation in digital engagement."
Mat Diss, MD of bemoko, said: "Combined, SDL and bemoko will deliver the most progressive omni-channel web content delivery platform available - way ahead of anything else available in the market. We are really excited about the future possibilities that will result from bringing our two companies and technologies together."
