Tablet-based kiosks landing in businesses across London, Israel and Russia – New York to follow.
There are so many mobile taxi-booking services that it's hard to tell them apart, but they are, of course, all keen to distance themselves from each other.
Kabbee introduced premium and eco-friendly cars to its inventory the other day, and GetTaxi – who launched in New York with a $12m funding round last summer – has introduced GetTaxi Kiosk.
The self-service ordering stands run on tablets and are launching in London, Israel and Russia following launch at The Business Travel Show, with a New York launch to follow.
The technology will be installed into office receptions, hotel lobbies and business centres, allowing users to book cabs by entering their mobile number with one arriving in under five minutes.
Some of the high-profile businesses using the kiosks include Facebook, The W Hotel and the Gordon Ramsay Group.
Shahar Waiser, Founder and CEO of GetTaxi comments: “Going forward our vision is to have GetTaxi Kiosk at key locations all around cities creating virtual taxi ranks, as a reliable, safe and fast alternative to the minicab service.
"We believe all Londoners should have easy access to iconic London Taxi cabs, with no minimum fares, and the GetTaxi Kiosk, we believe we can achieve this."
