Disney and Fox are already among clients sending personalised messages to consumers.

IBM provides B2C marketing support to brands including GAME through its SmartCloud platform, and has now acquired mobile messaging company Xtify to enhance its services.

The integration of the company is set to drive in-store traffic for businesses by providing customers with personalised deals via push notifications, which will support a range of clients including retail and public services.

It will also enhance IBM tools with real-time analytics for mobile devices to give companies more opportunity to secure loyal users across their apps and sites.

20th Century Fox, AMC Cinemas, Disney Stores and Staples are among existing Xtify clients.

Josh Rochlin, CEO, Xtify, said: "The premise is simple: mobile content and promotional offers are far more useful when delivered directly to consumers at the right time. Relevant and actionable offers are key to mobile marketing success.

"Xtify's mobile messaging capability combined with IBM's analytics and cloud infrastructure will provide marketers with global reach and an arsenal of rich content to influence and inform increasingly mobile consumers."
