GPN to help monetise partners online presence.
This is the first proprietary local e-commerce marketing platform, made to assist online publishers to better monetise their online presence via promotion of Groupon offers.
GPN will roll out Groupon deals to partner websites and apps that are relevant to what they do. This will increase visibility and in turn drive purchases through Groupon.
To celebrate -the introduction of GPN, Groupon will be increasing potential commission levels for purchases made through its partners digital assets.
The levels will be raised from ten to 12 per cent for Groupon Local, six to eight per cent for Groupon Getaways and five to eight per cent for Groupon Goods.
The platform is available in over 30 countries, and allows users of GPN access to real-time reports, displaying daily information on sales volumes, impressions and click through rates from around the world, link creation wizard containing multiple tools for creating high-converting links to Groupon marketplace, and Open API's offering instant access to thousands of Groupon deals as well as orders and commissions.
The GPN platform could prove to be invaluable considering the increased interest in mobile advertising, from a retailer and a consumer point of view.
The number of transactions being made through a mobile is growing, meaning these offers can be sent out to a wider audience who have the opportunity to purchase a deal immediately from their device.
Sean Smyth, VP of global partner marketing and business development at Groupon, said: "With affiliate presence in every US state and dozens of countries around the world, affiliate marketing sends more and more customers to Groupon merchants every month.
"GPN is the latest example of Groupon's dedication to provide a comprehensive, effective and large-scale marketing platform for local and national merchants to help grow their business."
Groupon considers a number of the most popular websites, apps and blogs as partners, including Ebates, Upromise by Sallie Mae, Dealnews, Fat Wallet, ShopAtHome.com and Slickdeals.net, which are all currently or soon to be on the GPN platform - with the majority of other content publishers introduced by the end of the year.
