A prime time TV spot awaits the lucky winner, so get voting!
Didlr, a new app aimed at allowing users to draw images on their touchscreen and share them with pals, has been selected for the finals of Microsoft’s Next App Star Challenge.
Currently available on iOS, Android, Windows Phone, web and Facebook, Didlr is being described in certain quarters as ‘the next Instagram’.
The app enables users to doodle on the touchscreen of any device on the aforementioned platforms and share them with friends as easily as they would send a Tweet.
Didlrs can also follow other people and their didls, as well as ‘star’ them, which increases their rank and shares the image with your own followers.
Didls can be shared via all manner of social networking platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, email, SMS, and IM, making it an ideal community for creative doodlers to inspire one another or simply draw for fun.
Elsewhere, the app also holds great potential for brands and businesses, who could indeed harness it as a natural component of social digital marketing, much like Twitter and Facebook. A Didlr campaign has already been run with Microsoft and Nokia around the Oscars, and Purple Ronnie has ran its own social media push to its community encouraging them to draw and share pics of the character.
Based on multiple rounds of head-to-head voting, a total of 64 apps will compete for the grand prize of a prime time TV spot, offering the lucky winner an amazing opportunity to spread the word of their innovation.
So, with voting now underway, there is no time like the present to get your voice heard and help your favourite app go the distance in the Microsoft Next App Star Challenge.
What’s more, all voters will automatically be entered into a prize draw to win a brand spanking new Nokia Lumia 920
