Tablet porn revs to increase fivefold by 2017

Driven by a tripling in the number of video viewers by 2015.

The porn industry has taken a battering recently with the rise of free tube sites, but Juniper still predicts high hopes for mobile and recently said mobile adult subs will near $1 billion within the next three years.

Now, the firm claims the growing number of tablet users will triple adult video views on the platform in the same time period, with revs rising fivefold over five years. This increase applies to all types of porn content, inclusive of live videochat.

However, shared devices will inhibit the platform from achieving a faster adoption, while some regions – China, Egypt – have laws in place to restrict the use of smut, no matter what the source is.

Charlotte Miller, report authour, said: "Tablets combine the privacy of a smartphone with a large screen, particularly suited for content consumption. It is clear that, as with many other types of content, users of mobile adult content will want to access content on their tablets as well as on smartphones and PCs."
