Pinterest nudity: art or porn?

Some of the photos on the platform have raised eyebrows.

Pinterest is a social network based around photo sharing, allowing users to collect and create pinboard style galleries. In addition to the website, it has a mobile app compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

While collections contain fashion, food and celebrity based images among others, some scantily clad photos have bordered on porn.

However, opinion remains divided among users, as the majority believe the naked people to be works of art, according to Mashable.

Pinterest's rules state: "We do not allow nudity or hateful content", barring "any content that…is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, vulgar or offensive.

Additionally, the firm's community manager Enid Hwang, says: "Photographic images that depict full-frontal nudity, fully exposed breasts and/or buttocks are not allowed on Pinterest. This does not apply to sculptures, paintings, and other mediums."
