Four per cent would be proud if the content got leaked.
The likes of Pamela Anderson, Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian have all demonstrated the risk of homemade porn getting leaked. More recently, UK singer Tulisa was caught out in a kinky mobile phone production.
Despite the obvious security risk, 28 per cent of Brits still feel the need to make their own amateur content – naked photos and videos – and stash it on their laptops, according to Absolute Software.
Over one-third of the saucy group would be upset if anyone else saw the material, while four per cent would be proud if it got shared about.
Additionally, one in four save pictures of themselves and family in swimwear and underwear, while one in ten confess to having embarrassing bookmarks or internet history and men are twice as likely to collect homemade porn on their devices than women.
Derek Skinner, head of recovery in EMEA, Absolute, said: "We place a lot of trust in the gadgets in our lives and it’s easy to forget just how much personal data our devices store; for many the thought of these making their way into the public domain doesn’t bear thinking about.
"In 2010 alone, over 100,000 laptops were reported lost or stolen to UK police forces. Yet it’s not just about the devices. Just think of the number of files, images, videos and emails."
Meanwhile, 25-34 year olds are the most likely to have naked images and videos saved with 41 per cent, followed by nearly 23 per cent of 45-54 year olds and 22 per cent of 35-44 year olds.
Further results show:
* West Midlander lead for embarrassing bookmarks and web history
* Londoners are most likely to store love letter or sex messages
* The Welsh have the highest number of filthy images
This follows our report that a quarter of Brits also have DIY porn on their mobile phones.
