It shows what can be achieved by 'treating adults like adults'.
MiKandi was launched in late 2009 to support adult app developers that were struggling to reach customers, and reached 80,000 downloads in under a week.
The Android porn store started 2012 with two million downloads, and introduced the MiKandi Theatre, a subscription-based streaming service that has been dubbed the adult Netflix.
The firm climbed over the walled garden imposed by Apple and avoided porn restrictions by introducing a HTML5 version of the MiKandi Theatre in summer, thus enabling access to all devices including iPhone, iPad, and WinPho handsets.
With 2013 underway, the company now reports 3.8m downloads worldwide, and one million registered users.
Jesse Adams, CEO, MiKandi, said: "The fact that we grew to this size organically, without any advertising dollars, is especially inspiring for us. It goes to show what happens when you focus on offering great customer service and treating adults like adults."
